For many people, money is the biggest obstacle when hiring a transcriber or proofreader. We don’t like to talk about money, it’s supposed to be a hushed issue. But I’m talking about it because that's how I roll. Hiring out your transcription and proofreading can be a considerable budget item, and it’s important to acknowledge that.
But if I expect you to work the numbers and budget for transcription and proofreading (and not base that decision SOLELY on price), it’s my job to tell you what you’re buying.
Clarity in pricing
I know what other transcribers and proofreaders charge and my pricing is competitive in the industry.
While I may have jobs in the queue from multiple clients, I work on one project at a time. My work is personal and tailored to you. I want to ensure that I provide accurate work that meets your style standards. That means I don’t have multiple jobs in progress at the same time. You get my full attention time and time again.
When the same transcriber or proofreader works on all of your transcripts, it means the format and style and tone will be the same across all of your jobs. Over time, I get to know your style as well as you do which only enhances your work. That makes you look like the reliable and professional person you really are.
I’ve had 17 years of technical writing experience adhering to multiple style guides and utilizing multiple reference sources. I have over 1200 hours of anatomy, physiology, and pathology education from my days as a massage therapist and over 7 years of experience running my own client-based business, assessing client needs, and exceeding expectations. I have also proofread thousands of pages of legal transcripts and thousands of minutes of audio across a wide range of industries.
All of that was just prep for your project.
You get to support a small local business
It’s just me! No conglomerate. No fancy management structure or corporate set up. Just a little business owner, paying her taxes, making a living, and participating in the communities she serves. There are fewer and fewer businesses that can stay afloat in an era of big box stores, 24-hour agencies, and Amazon. When you pay a sole proprietor for transcription and proofreading services, you can be certain that money goes right back into the local economy.
Pretty good deal, don't you think? Still have questions? How can I help?

I hate the annoyance of services that are nickeled and dimed. Don’t you? I want nothing more than pricing so simple you can’t believe it's true. Due to the wide range of turnaround times and the extras that don’t apply to everyone, I cannot provide a one-size-fits-all pricing structure. But it’s still simple! And it means that you don’t have to pay extra for the features you don’t need, which keeps your bill low and your bottom line high. It’s all on the website in black and white. There are no surprise charges. Ever. And there are even opportunities for discounts.
